The Reverend Kerra Becker English, our pastor, has brought fresh and imaginative approaches to worship as well as infectious enthusiasm to our planning process. She joined our church as pastor in June, 2012.
Pastor Kerra received her master of divinity degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary in 1996. She has also received her certification in Spiritual Guidance from the RUAH School of Spiritual Direction and currently offers spiritual guidance on an individual basis.
Before becoming Ashland Presbyterian Church’s pastor, she served as pastor of churches in Altoona, Pennsylvania and Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Kerra’s husband, Chuck, son Cade and daughter Ryleigh are part of our church family as well.
Kerra is also available for conducting weddings at Ashland Presbyterian Church and in the greater metro-Richmond area. Presbyterian Church (USA) policy allows for her to perform same-sex marriages, and as such, Pastor Kerra welcomes you to plan your wedding with her regardless of the religious preferences (interfaith) or identities of the partners (LGBT folks welcome).

Susan is an indispensable whirlwind, handling people, phone calls and paperwork with warmth, efficiency and aplomb. She’s been with us for over twenty years and we really couldn’t “get it all done” without her!
Karla has been with us for more than 20 years. Karla has brought both artistry and imagination to our music program, as well as a remarkable ability to bring out the highest level of talent from each choir member. Her Bachelor of Science & Arts degree in musical education is from C.W. Post College. Karla serves, also, as conductor of the Hanover Concert Band.
Austin joined the Ashland Presbyterian Church family in November 2017. He is a student at Randolph-Macon College where he is a music major and a member of the concert choir. He is part of the music fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon, and he accompanies the Intonation Choir which is part of that fraternity. Austin is also a member of the American Guild of Organists.
Caitlin is a student at Union Presbyterian Seminary. She joined us in September 2018 and will be with us through April. She is very passionate about church work, especially youth and children’s ministry. APC has a long history of supporting and welcoming seminary interns. We learn as much from them as they learn from us.
